


Recognizing two vibrant artists with overlapping ethos, BTFL produced a branded partnership between acclaimed soul musician Leon Bridges and 2017 CFDA Award Winner Ahlem Manai-Platt & Ahlem Eyewear, to bring a vibrant and artistically faithful campaign to life in Los Angeles and beyond. Bridges, already a fan of Ahlem Manai-Platt’s designs, brought his then upcoming sophomore album, “Good Thing”, to the forefront of Ahlem’s collection.
Bridges and Platt had more in common than might meet the eye as they found mutual inspiration in celebrating the past while bringing a modern, relevant and vibrant twist to such timeless style. The 50-frame collaboration aimed to celebrate the lyrics of Bridge’s newest work, the vibrancy of the album presented through the color motif of the line, while harnessing the classic and bold lines of the Ahlem signature design.
Launched at Ahlem’s Abbot Kinney boutique, and with a BTFL produced grand celebration of the collection, the capsule collection not only etched the title of Bridges’ album into the temples of the collections’ aviator glasses, but into the fashion-forward scene of Venice Beach. After a successful launch, profits from the line were shared with the community by donating 70% to Westminster Elementary School in Venice Beach, CA… Just steps from Ahlem’s brick and mortar storefront.
